RESILIENCE RAP

Two women in my life cruel the world could really be
Man people lying to me
Killing and gang banging far as the eye can see
See rosa parks took a stand for you and me
Didn't want to move for that old white lady
All the people in the front thought that was pretty shady
So she got that one and only man that will help her take a stand
For what she believed in
His name is MLK they did that bus boycott every day
In till the law was passed that you can seat on the bus where ever you asked

ESSAY FOR RESILIENCE

Rosa Parks and my mom, Michelle Bryant are people in my life that were inspirational to me and my day to day life. I feel that these two ladies both will help me to be who I want to be. My mom was a single parent who took care of two kids by herself working as a teacher. She has taught me to strive to be the best I can be out in the world. Rosa Parks has shown me that if you are tired of being mistreated because of the color of your skin, take a stand and do what you know is right. Both of these women taught me that whatever you put your mind to it you will do it.

Rosa Parks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4, 1913 and died on December 24, 2005. She had a happily married mom and dad. She helped start the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Standing side by side with Martin Luther King Jr. for Civil Rights and free seating on the bus, she said "Our mistreatment was just not right and I was tired of it". It was December 1,1955 when she took a stand for the right to free seating on the bus. It all happened when she sat on the bus in the front seat and a white lady told her to move and she said no and and she got arrested. She did lots of work with the NAACP for work on Civil Rights to help African Americans. Rosa Parks teaches us, "Each person must live their life as a model for others". And I think that statement has a powerful effect on anybody from any race Black, White, Mexican or Asian.

My mom Michelle Bryant, was born December 21,1962 in California. She moved to Florida to further her career as a teacher. Then, She came to be with he mom through the loss of her dad and from then on she's been in San Diego. As a teacher, she helps young in school to get a good education to help them succeed. One thing she did to stand up for what she believed in was that ever child should have a chance to learn. She once said to me, "what ever you do, you must do it to the best of your abilities. She went from second grade to fourth grade to fifth grade as teacher. One thing she says constantly to her kids is to treat others as you want to be treated.

These two ladies have help me in my legacy because they have shown me nothing could ever keep you down if you don't let it. They are both smart African American women helping the nation in their own way. My mom is educating kids in school and Rosa Parks was doing it in the courts and with speeches. They also have shown me that hard work and applying yourself to what you will help me to be successful in today's life. I have learned that the color of your skin has an effect in the way today's people treat you.

I believe that I should recieve an A because i was well ready and came in ready to battle. Some of my strenghts that I feel I had in this trail was that I stayed in it even when we were losing. I tryed to asked some meaning full questions tha will try to proof that the defendant is guilty of what we charge. I spoke with a loud deep voice so that every one could hear me cleary. In the trail I got some good edvidence out of the wittness that help use in the trail. I came in with my closing arguments and qeustins to ask the wittness. I help my other prosecuting attoruneys and we took turns questioning the witness. I think the trail went alright but we charge the defendent with the wrong crime.

Writing Process: 3 Drafts of different people making corections. During my writting process I wanted to just get all my idea's out about what I wanted to say in my story for examople, a blind person, first love, crazy family memeber. I wanted to describe some scense so that you could fill like you were there and see what my character is feeling. I also wanted to have alot of parts of what a good story should have such as, good guy bad guy, begining, middle and end.

Publishing Process: For my publishing part of this i decide to type it up in Word and make sure I have no spelling erros and I look neat and presentable. The next thing I did was bind it and I also had put a cover page with the title and my name.

FEATURE CAST FROM THE PAST!

The two concepts that I learned were how to use Imovie becuased when I use I interviewed my grandpa I had to put that in there. There was alot of stuff that i didn't know how to do such as dowload the viedo. My other concept is how to interview somebody, that means make notes and practice before you start. The challenges were that the computer was not working right. The Real-World Significance is that i interviewed somebody that had been through World War 2 and Pearl Harbor.

MY QUERINCA

Did you know that rap starts from peotry? Well i do and i love to do both. i like them both because with poetry they have a slow Jazz tune in background while you recite your poem. in any rap, it's more of an upbeat tempo that goes with the lyrics. I love how each instrument has it's own unique sound that makes it stand out from any other. I love the way you can make all the instruments go together so that you can rap or out a poem beehind it. I have a program on the computer that will let me put the instruments together. It's called garge band, and it allows you to charge the tempo, put different sounds, beats, and instruments to make something to rock out to. I love to take upbeat techo beats and slow the tempo down to about 80 when it's uasully 120 so it sounds a whole lot better, more of a hip hop beat. This is why my Querince is music.
